Slightly sarcastic, these are my thoughts on the things going on in MY world.

Who'da Thunk It?

Had to run out briefly today to mail a package for the office. Took a few personal minutes to accomplish some quick family grocery shopping at the nearby Giant. As I pulled into the parking lot, parked my 13-year old van (myself!), and headed towards the store, what do I notice?

A sign proclaiming: Now Available, Free Valet Parking for Giant Customers

Who'da thunk that this would ever be spotted in elitist McLean? And, for that matter, why do you need to provide this service to your customers in the first place? If they can't stand the summer heat walking from their parked car to the store, what are they doing out in it in the first place?

On the Bright (Light) Side

Yesterday's dental appointment went very well - new dentist - so there were jitters there. Had a large, 2-sided old filling/new cavity that needed to be fixed. Turned out to be larger and deeper than he could see on the x-ray, but his numbing process was marvelous, and I never felt a thing! I didn't know for sure, but I thought he might be going to do the composite filling, despite it being a top, back tooth. So I now have a tooth that looks like it's never been touched, despite the fact of all the drilling and filling I went through! Very calm dentist, he explained everything, even drawing a picture to show why the procedure was taking longer than he had expected. He did a nice job filing and shaping the composite, even smoothing and polishing it so it feels like a regular tooth. And even checked to make sure that dental floss would go between the teeth. I'm pleased with his attention to detail, and am glad the Mister found him - plus his office is very close to our house!

Got a much better night's sleep last night. I turned in around 10 (not midnight!) and didn't wake until the alarm went off at 5 am. SG got herself up and downstairs, and since she's taking finals this week, I didn't have to pack a lunch for her. Even SB was easy to wake this morning! Didn't need to pack a lunch for myself, since we were able to enjoy some leftovers from a company luncheon yesterday. How I wish every day could start as well as this one did.

Let's hope I haven't just cursed myself (speaks the pessimistic side of me)!

GAH

Ever have one of those days that you wish you could just hit a button and start over?

This morning was one of those days. Any routine I have, or pretend to, went to heck in a handbasket.

1. A phone call at 3:48 am from my FIL to ask for assistance from the Mister - my MIL has fallen and he needs help in getting her up.

2. The dog messed on my living room carpet, after my mother took her out not much earlier in the morning. Need more time to clean this mess up. Don't have it. Lay paper towels over the spots I'll need to clean tonight.

3. I've been enjoying the warm weather, but neglecting to wear my support stockings, and my legs are showing and feeling the neglect. Got them on today, as the weather is cooler. I still don't have to like them.

4. Misplaced my cell phone in the house. Called it, and Snark-Boy found it upstairs - but tried to answer it. Why? Yelled at him, and while he was passing the phone to me, managed to drop it on my shoeless foot, where it landed on my toes! More yelling ensues and boy, do my toes hurt!!

5. My stomach is messed up - maybe due to stress - and I'm having to make multiple trips to the restroom. You're welcome for the visual.

6. Got a dental appointment to have a cavity filled this morning. Never really pleasant.

How much longer til bedtime??

Pet Peeve

This ONE thing people do when it rains drives me buggy. How hard can it be to remember to turn on your HEADlights when you turn on your wipers? NOT your parking lights, NOT your daytime running lights - your HEADLIGHTS. Not only is it a safe practice, it's Virginia law, and has been for many years now!

I'd love to see a police officer or even a State Trooper pull someone over and ticket them for this - maybe then they'd get the message, and even pass it on to their co-workers, family and friends! Or, conversely, Virginia could bite the bullet and pay to mail informational notices to drivers when they send them their license renewals.

Could Be Trouble

Snark-Girl somehow managed to smack the back of her right hand on Friday, either at school or later that evening. Doesn't know against what, or even remember doing it. However, by Sunday, she'd developed a swollen, bruised area around the two center knuckles of her hand that was larger than a 50-cent piece - more like a small silver-dollar pancake.

Several people have commented on it, and it was becoming tender to the touch, as well as the alarming colors the bruise was revealing. Cue last night, when she asks me if I can call the doctors office in the morning, and could she stay home from school to make the appointment? Um, nope. Head off to school - I'll call when the office opens!

8 am - call made; appointment scheduled for well after her school lets out. Now, do I drive her, meaning I have to leave work early, or get my mother, her grandmother, to step in? Fortunately, the appointment is late enough that it doesn't conflict with an appointment she's going to with/for my dad, and she'll handle it. Yay, I don't need to leave work early.

Later this afternoon - Snark-Girl has seen the doctor; she's being sent off for an x-ray. Now let me mention, she's right-handed, and we're coming into the end of the school year, with all the requisite exams and writing involved.

And I'm still waiting to hear what the doctor has to say about the x-ray and if she's going to have her hand casted, or not. Please let this be nothing more than a major bruise, with instructions to ice it, or maybe a bad strain/sprain that can be wrapped so she can still, maybe, write!

Updated to Add: Final report is there's nothing broken. She's to apply warm compresses to it, and try to use it as little as possible for the next week to let it rest and heal. School should be interesting. Hopefully there aren't any tests she's slated to take!

Dear Driver

Dear VW GTI Driver -

Just by its size, your vehicle is faster than mine. Yes, I acknowledge that you have a carseat in yours, but it was empty this morning. However, when you're about to get passed by a grandma in a 13-year old Plymouth minivan, mister, you better discover which one of those foot pedals is the gas, and use it! Also, when driving in Beltway traffic, please do as the rest of us do, and quit leaving so durned much room in front of your car!

Hopefully, today was just a fluke, and I won't encounter you on the road again. Happy driving.

Slow Climb

Feeling some better. I know I'm out of the valley, and have begun the slow climb back up the hill toward healthy. The cough is less frequent, the nose not near so clogged, and the throat doesn't hurt.

Now if I could just figure out how to make the hours of sleep that I do manage to get be worth more, I know I'd be getting better faster!

Allergies

My dog and I are both suffering horribly. And lest you think dogs can't have allergies, I dare you to come by my house and watch her just about bang her head against the floor from the force of her sneezes. When she's outside, they're worse. I've not seen her swiping at her eyes, but I'm still willing to bet she's got allergies due to the pollen or whatever is outside recently. Just what IS causing this flare-up for her and for me?

Me, I've got a sore, scratchy throat, plus lots of drainage down the back of my throat. Not to mention a cough to beat the band (I just adore cliches, don't you?), that sometimes just about takes my breath away. I'm sure the cough is caused by the drainage, yet constant blowing of the nose barely makes a dent in curtailing the cough. And this all started last Saturday, just prior to our church choir's performace of our Easter cantata, where I'm one of the altos. Kind of hard to sing with a major sore throat, you know! But I got through it, although I know I wasn't in my best form, and nowhere near the top of my game, as far as singing goes. Wednesday was about the worst workday, but I think this weekend had it beat to smithereens.

I managed to get our with both my daughters to shop for basket goodies, hitting up Wal-Mart and Target, as well as a run to Kohls for some items to round out Snark-Girl's Easter outfit. I had mine planned, insofar as it would be hiding under a choir robe! But, upon waking Sunday morning, I realized that there was no way I was taking my sniffling, sneezing, coughing self to church to bother others, and potentially infect them with my virus, so only Snark-Girl went. I even cried off of going to my in-laws for the Hiding of the Eggs. You'd think with my youngest being almost 11 that this event would die a natural death, but they seem to resurrect it every year. I will predict that it won't happen next year, though, due to my MIL's ever-increasing frailties.

Back to the allergies, though - I already take a Costco version of Zyrtec daily, so what else can I take that won't zonk me out at the office? I'm the world's worst patient when it comes to taking pills. I can remember to dose the Mr. and Snark-Boy (of course, they take pills daily!), and am good enough at dosing the Boy when he's sick, but remembering pills for myself just seems to be too much for my poor mind to take. Please, trees, finish up with your spring "blooming" or "leafing" or whatever it is, and let me breathe easy again!

Coming Up for Air

Good heavens! Has it really been a month since I've published any thoughts here? I knew I got totally bogged down at work with things involving business taxes, and K-1s going out to almost 200 people, not to mention our personal taxes at home, but WOW!

So, since I'm swamped at home with computer issues and laundry, I'm going to have to go with this sorry acknowledgement, and the promise that I'll see if I can dredge out a post sometime this week.

Ciao!

A Stellar Day

Have you heard of the Yellow Car Game? My kids taught this one to me. Granted, we don't take long car trips much anymore, but with all the traffic in our area, it's a way to pass the time while in the car.

Obviously, you're searching for yellow vehicles. Cars, trucks, jeeps and vans all get one point. Yellow Hummers earn you two points, and yellow motorcycles (yes, they exist!!) will get you three points. Yellow scooters, which are different from motorcycles, will still earn you the same three points. (Edited to add: yellow commercial vehicles (cabs, busses, construction, etc.) DON'T count. Just wanted to clarify!)

My drive to work over the same roads, at a total of 14 miles, will see a varied number of yellow cars - today's tally was a stellar 14! All from the one-point category.

And on a sad note, the entertainment industry lost one of the greats today - Elizabeth Taylor passed away at the age of 79. Makes me just a little more aware of my own mortality, and that of my mother, who will achieve the esteemed age of 80 later this year.

Cheese Whiz

So, I learned the hard way (as if I didn't already know) last night that it's not a good idea to indulge in a Caribou coffee drink at close to 5 pm, especially after drinking a Dr. Pepper just an hour prior to that! Oh, and then I was a fool and got another Dr. Pepper when I got dinner for Snark-Boy and myself at Mac's. See what happens when I don't get my coffee at home before heading out to church??

All this is to say that last night found me still up (buzzing about - although to be honest, I WAS waiting on a load of laundry to finish in the dryer so I could fold it) reading my KindleDX at 1 am, followed by multiple awakenings throughout the rest of the (short!) night at 1:45, 2:45, 4 and 5:45 am, at which point I was up for the day.

Let's see if I can put yesterday's lesson to good use - I'm already halfway through my first cup of coffee, and I'm going to try not to drink any caffeine at ALL after lunch today. We'll see how well I do. Especially since they're calling for rain and thunder today, so I won't have the sunlight to help me stay awake.

On My Way Home Last Night .....

I don't know what it is about me, but I seem to draw the loony drivers around me like flies. On my way home last night, I got stuck behind an SUV/CUV with diplomatic tags - first indicator. The driver, a female (and we wonder where all those stories about bad female drivers come from?), was giving plenty of room in front of her - second indicator. This is something that absolutely sets my teeth on edge, as I have been driving this route to and from work and home for at least 15 years, and unfortunately for me, expect the same level of competency from all the other drivers around me as I have. It is a sign of driving weakness to leave vast amounts of room in front of your car - it's practically an invitation to constantly be cut off - and is a major source of annoyance to me when I get behind one of these drivers. (No, I don't suffer from road rage, thankyouverymuch.)

As we crept around the on-ramp towards the highway, she continued to leave loads of space. Once up on the highway, you're expected to ramp your speed up to that of other drivers/the posted speed for the highway. Not only does she not speed up, she's still leaving all that space!!! This woman is driving 35 mph in a 55-60 mph area. Ay-yi-yi! I was stuck for a bit, but did manage to get past her before too much steam erupted from my ears and perma-fogged the inside of my vehicle.

Next encounter was with a younger female driver. She seemed to be having trouble determining where she was supposed to be on the highway (guess she had no GPS to help her out) - had her right turn indicator on perma-blink. She also was driving below the posted speed, which can cause an accident all by itself. But she did all that one better, she not only cut someone off in the right lane as she realized she was about to pass her exit, she then got stuck in no-man's land between the highway and the exit lanes, and then she proceeded to cut someone else off as she darted her car in front of them - I'm not sure if she looked before she did this or not. I witnesed all this from about 3 cars behind her, and one exit prior to mine.

Maybe it's the vehicle I drive (an older mini-van) - people always are trying to get in front of me. I don't drive slow, I don't cart around a horde of kids to distract me, and I'm not on my cell phone (although I do have a bluetooth for when I do get a call (rarely)). 3 guesses - it's my van. I know my trip home will take a certain amount of time, and usually I'm okay with letting things just happen around me, but sometimes they're above and beyond the usual, and just bear sharing.

Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time is seriously kicking my tail. This year seems to be worse than any previous. While I've always been a night owl, far preferring to see the new day in (midnight) rather than watch the sun rise, I'm having a difficult time regulating my sleep so that I can feel any semblance of functional at my job and on the drive to and from. (Perhaps just another lame excuse for why it's taken me a week to even attempt a post?)

This past weekend was cram-jammed full of life and all the "stuff" that goes along with it. Our big church youth fundraiser was Saturday Night - a little thing called Mama Mia's. It's a spaghetti dinner, followed by a themed talent show (of sorts). Snark-Girl was involved with the event in two big ways - she was both lead server (maitre-de?) and one of the techs involved with the lighting for the show. I was merely involved in one of the 15-18 acts that made up the show - the ladies who sing alto in the church choir have routinely done a skit and song/dance routine for Mama Mia's, with the exception of one year. We returned this year with a rendition of Marilyn Monroe's "Diamonds are a Girls' Best Friend". While it was good, and received some laughs (as we intended), the best was saved for last - we had a synchronized swimming act, believe it or not! 6 of our men (with 2 more holding up a long, blue "water" curtain) found a hilarious skit on YouTube that they performed and received a standing ovation.

The serious fun and games was after the show was over! Then, all the lights, cables and stage props needed to be dismantled, packed and stored so we could have our regular church service the next morning. Believe it or not, all of the take-down was accomplished in about 45 minutes - many hands make light work. But then we lost that infernal hour that messed me ALL up. I'm having a hard time even remembering what-all I actually did do on Sunday following church. Ah, the hazy remembrances of an age-addled mind.

I finally feel, with last night's sleep, that I'm back on the right track, having gotten between 6-7 hours of fairly restful sleep. And with the Mr. slated to be gone for the next 3 nights, I can really catch up on my sleep this weekend! That, and get some massive laundry done and more general picking and putting all over the house, not to mention a huge run at paperwork and potential shredding. While having him gone is hard in some respects, it also is easier to do things without him pulling me away to help him on one of his "priority" projects(?) or question me as to just why I'm doing what I'm doing, or how I'm doing it. Everyone thinks their way is always the best!

Later!

Give It Up

Did any of you give up anything for Lent? I hadn't really intended to go along with this, until my boss put out a plate of Godiva chocolates he'd been gifted with for his birthday. Offering one to me, I replied "I've given up chocolate"!

I have no idea where that statement came from, but once uttered, I decided to stick with it. Snark-Girl has also decided to go along with the giving up of something meaningful to her - so she's doing without coffee. Currently, she's down for the count at home with a caffeine-withdrawal headache - I'm told they take about 3 days to run their course!

Wish us (and those others doing without) well in this endeavor. I can report, however, that just finding a snack in a vending machine is a major temptation, until you look at just what's left once chocolate is ruled out. Maybe this will be the jump-start I need to drop several pounds!

Traffic Rant

What is it with people on the Beltway? The weather forecast from last night was for heavy rain through today, with the possibility of flooding in low-lying areas, and even chances of flash flooding if the rain becomes heavy enough. So why would anyone in their right mind be driving to work this morning with their wipers on, yet their headlights OFF? Come on, people! This has been a law in Virginia for several years now! If your wipers are on, your headlights need to be on! Just because you can see out of your car well, does not mean that others driving can see you! Weather like this can cause enough accidents without thoughtless drivers being tossed into the mix.

It's too bad there aren't enough police out to be pulling over these idiots and handing out some well-deserved tickets.

That is all.

Absent, and Apologizing

Sorry, friends - I dropped off the face of Snark-It for a while. Life got a bit hectic around these parts, and this new enterprise of mine was what took last place.

There've been sooo many things going on lately. The Mr. returned from his trip, and noticed some of the things I accomplished while he was gone, but completely missed others. We had a H-U-G-E blow-up at each other just days later, and I ran off and spent the night away from home, getting very little sleep in the process, but cooling off my well-known temper. (While this site will remain "clean" in the language category, let's just say that at home I am more relaxed, and when my temper took hold I went off the deep end and turned the air blue with some horrible, no-good, very bad cursewords.) Had an out-of-state visitor at my job for a week, and enjoyed very much getting to know this person better, and also very much appreciated all the things they accomplished for my boss while they were here! I took last Friday off from work for a doctor's appointment, and to ready myself and Snark-Girl to leave for a weekend youth retreat with several other churches in the hills of West Virginia. (Possibly a post later about this experience!)

While on the aforementioned retreat I also got very little sleep due to plastic-covered mattresses - so noisy! - which were uncomfortable, and there were very late curfews for the kids. Also, far too few bathrooms for people to use for cleaning up and showering. But, I DID accomplish doing the low-ropes course that was there as a team-building exercise - me and two other moms (I was the oldest), plus 3 girls. We six were coming together from two different churches, having just met the evening before - briefly. We had to learn to trust the team, that you are not held back by physical limitations (one of the moms had a broken tailbone!), that you can do more than you think you can, how to work as a unit even when you've just met, that support need not be physical, to listen to all ideas - some might just surprise you, and that famous cliche' of thinking outside the box.

Once we returned home on Sunday afternoon - during a torrential rainstorm that had cars winding up in the median of a major interstate - I got involved in playing catch-up at home on laundry and planning a grocery run. I didn't make it out Sunday due to all the rain - I'm not that much of a glutton! Found out that Snark-Boy DOES have an appetite when the Mr. forgets to give him his ADHD meds for two days running! But man, is he one mass of movement and bounce and talk when he's not dosed!

I've spent the last few nights trying to catch up on laundry, dishes, shopping, cooking for a larger-than-normal family gathering on Monday, and sleep. Still wanting to accomplish MORE in the sleep category. And the Mr. is asking me if I've done any more looking for a job - when? In my spare time?

Enough said - I'm back!

Itchy & Flaky - And We're Not Talking About My Head

So, if you're looking for a discussion about dandruff - bye! Cuz this ain't it. I'm suffering with a bad case of the winter dry-skin itchies. We have gas heat, which is great for keeping you warm - it totally beats a heat pump - but dries your skin something terrible if you don't have a humidifier attached to your furnace. We have one, but it's not currently functioning; that, or we've forgotten to check it or turn it on or buy a new water filter - any or all of the previously mentioned things.

While we've definitely had some colder than usual temperatures this winter, it hasn't seemed as bad as last year's Snowmageddon, which had the kids around here actually wanting to go back to school, they'd been out on winter break so long! This winter has been the year of the little snows, little but frequent. Like weekly.

All this is to say that I haven't a clue as to what is causing my poor hands to be so red and itchy, and my arms and legs to be so flaky and itchy. I do know, however, that I need to find something to fix it, and fast! Lotions, potions, oils, creams, shoot, I've even tried vaseline! Some work for a little while, and some things just seem to make my hands even redder - perfumes, maybe? I never knew I was such a delicate person. Unless you want to attribute my suddenly dry skin to my age, in which case I'm going to pretend that my eyesight is worse than it is and I can't see you through my glasses!

Finally

You know those people who drive like they're better than everyone else - and feel like the laws somehow don't apply to them? Dislike them with a passion, don't you? Come on, be honest here - it's just you and me. I talk to other drivers from inside my car, knowing full well and good that those arrogant so-and-so's can't hear me; but if it makes me feel better, I'm going with it.

Today I witnessed one of them get their comeuppance. Sorry if you think I'm petty, but it brought a small smile to my face, once I'd passed the incident. There's been lots of construction, lane changes and new traffic lights added on my route home from work. It's a big road, leading to a major highway - you'd better believe that U-turns are not permitted - yet I've been witness to WAY too many of them lately. Where's a cop when you need one? Today, he was there.

Driver in a red vehicle, from a traffic light, in front of said officer sitting in the median in an unmarked car, makes a U-turn, just to sit at another traffic light, and then proceeds to reverse and pull forward a few times to adjust their lane position. Officer just sits there, and when the light changes, he turns on his flashing lights, gives a few whoops with the siren, and pulls the red vehicle over. Like I said, it's a small thing, but it's nice to see a little balance in this unbalanced world.

Some Cheese With My Whine

Mr. Snark-It is on business travel this week. While I admit I am a complainer, often silently (oh, the conversations I have in my head!), sometimes not, about what he does or doesn't do around the house, I always find myself vastly appreciative of him when he's NOT around. If only I could carry it forward to when he IS home.

Yesterday was one of those days - guess it was payback for having had Monday off. Just enough of a dusting of icy sleet and snow to delay school for two hours, thus putting me arriving at work close to lunchtime! And I knew I was going to have to skip out a bit early due to the aforementioned Mr.'s travel to pick up Snark-Boy from SACC. Add to that a music lesson for S-B, and a needed grocery run, and my day was already looking a mite crazy. But, I needed one more thing on my plate to push the envelope over to full-fledged nuts. Of course, I got it.

My wonderful mother had spent Monday assisting me with some much-needed home picking & putting. She came back on Tuesday to finish putting my living room back to rights after Christmas (we have a "box tree" - wanna make something of it??), and she planned to wash my tile floor in the kitchen and foyer. Imagine my surprise upon receiving a call telling me that the power had gone off! (Snark-Girl, who's home from school, now informs me she's going to go to her other grandparent's house to do some computer work. She may or may not be home later, we'll see what the power does.) Did I have a number to call to report it? Nope, not on me, although we'd just gone through this exercise last month with a 36-hour power outage in our neighborhood.

Sneak away from work early, get S-B from SACC, and head home. Yup, power's still off. Okay, so no leftovers reheated in the microwave for dinner - guess we'll be eating sandwiches. Need to get going on S-B's homework, so I drag together all my candles and flashlights and rig up a hanging flashlight attached to my kitchen table light and start him on his work. It's not perfect, but it works. Then, the power is magically restored! Hurray! Quick run at the microwave for dinner. S-G comes home to grab clothes and other necessary items for school, and decides to stay overnight, even though the power is obviously on. Dinner done, now let's get out the door for the music lesson. While he's there, I walk down to the grocery store and get my few items. Back to Music & Arts, where I steal a few minutes with my beloved KindleDX. Lesson over - a few minutes in discussion with the instructor, and we're headed back home. Maybe we can squeeze in some more homework.

Wrong. The lights are off again! We go though this THREE more times throughout the night, before they finally get the power restored (I hope I hope I hope) about 5:30 this morning! Got my shower, coffee started and S-B woken up and dosed with his meds. Okay, now for both of us to get dressed so I can get the dog out. Downstairs and let's do breakfast and pack lunches. Power's STILL on. Keep on truckin' through the morning routine, and... we're out the door.

It remains to be seen whether the power has fritzed while I'm off at work. It always amazes me how much we take things for granted - until we DON'T have them.

The Temperature Game

Part of Snark-Boy’s morning routine happens on the very short drive to the elementary school. It starts before the key is cranked in the van engine. I have a “computer” of sorts in my van – it tells me direction, outside temperature, distance to empty for my gas consumption, and other things of that ilk. So, we each guess a temperature, and then check to see who is that morning’s “winner”. I don’t know, am I teaching him awareness of his surroundings, fair play, or just what? It’s been an ongoing thing for almost this whole school year. He reminds me of it every morning, even when I don't necessarily want to play.

Today’s guesses: Mom – 64. Snark-Boy – 48. Actual temp – 54. Winner: Snark-Boy.

Just a small glimpse into my day. You’re welcome!

Technology

So, as I intimated yesterday, I’m not the most “of-the-moment” person with regards to technology. I’ve only been texting for 14 months, but I’m pretty speedy with my thumbs, and I do like the phone I have. I should, as with all things in my life, I researched it about to death before making the final decision! Mr. Snark-It has a laptop (can’t remember exactly why he decided he needed one), and has managed to set up a network for the several computers we have in our house on multiple floors. I’d love to have one, but that’s no more than a desire at the moment. We're trying to only get stuff that is a need, as the job I am currently in has an end date in July, and I will be seriously job hunting come late spring. With iffy finances, we’re saving bucks where we can! I do have an iPod, albeit a classic, which I find to be quite solid and secure, even though I seriously doubt I’ll ever fill the thing up! And, with working, all the running around and tending to my household that I do, I wind up having Snark-Girl do all the uploading of CDs to it, and she locates cover art for me as well. Spoiled? Only sometimes.

With the above paragraph out of the way – introduction done – if I were to decide to start a Twitter account (in 2012, of course!), what suggestions for a phone would you offer? I currently have an LG Env3, and I like the inside screen and full QWERTY keyboard. When you wear glasses, you appreciate things that are just that mite bit bigger, saving yourself from eyestrain! Oh, we run on Verizon, and I don’t see Mr. Snark-It moving away from that.

Why? And Maybe

Why did I decide to start up a blog at this late stage of my life? I’m not certain that I have anything any different to add from what’s already out there, and I read daily, yet don’t comment on, many blogs. What can I say? I’m an information addict and a bookworm, to boot! Before I got texting on my phone (I know, I’m soooo current), I emailed constantly with my oldest daughter. I refuse to go the Facebook route, and don’t have the proper capabilities on my phone to Tweet, so blogging it shall be. I’ve been known to make many a short story into a long one. Who knows? Maybe I can increase my typing speed again, so that when I start job-hunting in early summer, I can claim to be a speedy typist! I can only hope.

Maybe this will only be an outlet for some of the frustration I deal with in my daily life. If that be the case, then welcome to my private therapy! Maybe I can amuse you, while saving myself from some stress and a potential ulcer.
